WHO WE ARE

At Longfellow Middle School, we inspire, challenge, and empower students through the love of learning through the transition from concrete to more abstract thought. Serving students in grades 6–8, we promote high expectations while working together with parents and the community to develop students to their full potential.

OUR HISTORY

Longfellow Middle School opened in August of 2005 and replaced a middle school bearing the same name. The previous building opened in 1921 and was named for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a famous 19th Century American poet. “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” “Song of Hiawatha,” and “The Children’s Hour” are some of Longfellow’s best known poems. Longfellow Middle School was built to house 600 students for an investment of $12.5 million, of which nearly 80% came from the state of Ohio.
